I am familiar with the old traditions of Europe and the modern technologies of the younger winemaking regions. Both worlds inspire me to forge new paths.

In my vineyard in Jenins, I cultivate not only the Pinot Noir variety typical for this area, but also the aromatic Gamaret grape. And my winery is the only one in the city of Basel.

I am a farmer and an industrial gipsy, an office oenologist and a hands-on experimenter.

And that's exactly the combination you'll sense in my wines.

I produce two kinds of wine: AOC wines from the ‘Bündner Herrschaft’ and first-rate Swiss country wines.

The jeninser AOC comes from my own vineyard. aspermont is an AOC wine from Jenins, as well. Both contain all my expertise as a winegrower and oenologist. You can taste the elevation, the terroir, and the weather of that particular year. That’s why every vintage is unique.

Vintage after vintage: the country wines quintus, apriori and nanumy are unmistakable. They stand for continuity and quality. To make these wines, I collaborate with selected partner businesses.

My wines are the result of many small decisions made over the course of a year – from winter pruning to the growing season, from harvest to pressing and bottling.

Everything is done by hand: come harvest time, the grapes are carefully placed into the crate and dried. The work then continues in the cellar. I tend to the grapes as they undergo their transformation, through fermentation, aging and bottling. Until finally, the wine is ready to drink. Viva!

I believe that crafts and trade belong to a city. That’s why I decided to process my grapes in Basel. This is where the grapes are crushed and the wine is pumped, stored, bottled, labelled and packaged for delivery.

The winery offers guided tours, tastings and receptions. Of course, my wines are for sale here, too. Call me to make an appointment.
